Andrew Bingham Staff Writer The Logan Tabernacle was lit up with Christmas lights and music on the 6th of November, with the entire student body of Ellis Elementary singing different Christmas songs they had learned in class. The program began with the 3rd-5th graders singing “Spirit of the Season” followed by their version of “Hanukkah O, Hanukkah.” The kids even performed an adorable dance in front of all their families. After that, Lillian Ricks, a 3rd grade girl with an incredible voice, sang a solo. The crowd was blown away by her performance. As the older students made their way off of the stage and the younger kids shuffled on, the show continued with the audience singing “Jingle Bells” and “Angels We Have Heard on High.” The building was filled with the voices of all the parents and grandparents attending, and those present could really feel the spirit of the holidays. "Audience members couldn’t help but smile as they sang their hearts out." As the kindergarten-2nd grade students made it onto the stage, a young 4th grade boy named Kojo sang a few of his favorite holiday songs, and again, the crowd was amazed by the voice such a young kid could have.
The little kids performed “Penguin Polka” and “Sleepy Bells.” Although the smaller children were a bit less organized than the older ones, they seemed more energetic and excited to be there. The dancing was definitely interesting to watch as they finished with “Deck, Deck, Decorate December.” Near the end of the program, the entire Ellis student body came out onto the stage to perform “Feliz Navidad” and “Jammin’ in our Jammies,” where about 10 kids were even dressed in their pajamas. The performance got really interesting when all of the students were dancing and singing, and audience members couldn’t help but smile as they sang their hearts out.
