Brock Taylor Staff Writer As ski resorts around Utah start to open, you can taste the excitement in the air. Snow is starting to fall, and Snapchat stories are full of videos of students brushing off the skis and boards getting ready for a great year of shredding the slopes. With nearly all the resorts in Utah open for the season, Logan High students are already traveling up to 3 hours to get their fix in. Easton Anderson, Alex Emmett and others bought season passes to Park City Mountain Resort and have already traveled down there multiple times. “Not many trails are open, but it was still way fun,” Emmett said. No matter what your activity of choice is, memories will be made this winter sitting around sipping hot chocolate with friends. Closer to home, Beaver Mountain is set to open on December 15th, and Cherry Peak is near opening for its second season. Snowbasin Resort in Ogden Canyon already has most of their lifts open.
If you aren’t into the skiing or snowboarding scene, the Merlin Olsen Park Ice Skating Rink is being prepared for use later this winter. That is always one of the choice activities for students in the winter. No matter what your activity of choice is, memories will be made this winter sitting around sipping hot chocolate with friends. It is those moments we won’t forget.
